Palisades School District Requests Resident Input on Facility Consolidation

The Palisades School District is asking all adult residents in the district to complete a survey regarding school facility consolidation.

Background

Over the past 20 years, student enrollment in the Palisades School District has steadily declined. The district currently operates and maintains the same number of buildings as it did when student enrollment was 40% higher.

Maintaining underutilized facilities requires ongoing spending on utilities, transportation, maintenance, and staffing. The School Board is evaluating facility consolidation to lower operational costs and keep funding focused on educational programs and district expenses.

The School Board is seeking community feedback before making future planning decisions.
